Every time, it's the same thing: I do a bit of gardening, and I end up with a pile of green waste that I don't know what to do with!
Burn it? Impossible, it's illegal and pollutes!
Dump it in nature? That’s considered illegal dumping!
I have no choice but to recycle it at a waste facility!
But if I don't feel like doing it myself, I can call a service provider who will clear away all that ugly green waste in just a few minutes.
How much does such a service cost?
I'll explain everything in this guide, with comparison tables and tips, to help you get rid of your green waste easily, for just a few pounds!
Let me start by giving you an average price across all categories, which I compiled from all the green waste removal quotes I could find:
To arrive at this average price, I made a basic request for green waste removal on our site: lawn clippings, dead leaves, and small branches.

We haven't discussed this yet, but if you have a very large amount of green waste (generally more than 10 m³), you'll likely need to rent a special skip.
It's important to know this, as the cost of disposing of green waste will increase considerably!
Where to get a skip?
It's simple, just type {green waste skip + YOUR CITY} into your preferred search engine (like Google) to find skip rental companies near you.
The most well-known is SUEZ, but we recommend getting quotes from several providers, as the cost can be particularly steep!
How much does it cost to rent a green waste skip? Estimate:
For one day of rental, expect to pay approximately:
£170 for a 6m³ skip
£295 for a 10m³ skip
£640 for a 30m³ skip
As you can see, renting a skip can be quite costly... it's better to avoid accumulating green waste in your garden and instead opt for a home collection after you've finished your gardening work.
If you want to place the skip in front of your home, you’ll need to request a permit from your local council at least a week in advance!
I recommend applying 10 days before your skip arrives.
To help you understand everything before booking, let’s take Yoojo as an example, a specialist in green waste removal.
Having completed nearly 10,000 gardening services, we can easily answer your questions to ensure this service is a success for you.
A well-filled request significantly increases your chances of the service being completed perfectly. This applies to green waste removal, as well as all other services offered by Yoojo.
Provide as many details as possible about the type of green waste to be removed, and including a photo to illustrate your request is always recommended. For example, removing brambles after clearing costs more than just collecting bags of grass, as explained in our guide on clearing costs.
You might specify:
If the provider needs to cut branches
If they need to bring their own bags for green waste
If you will provide rakes and other tools
etc…
Anything that can help clarify your needs is always useful.
On their part, the jobber will provide the necessary equipment, vehicle, and permit for the tip.
Rest assured that there are no hidden costs with Yoojo (travel fees, tip fees, etc…). The price you agree on with the jobber is the total amount you will pay!
Basically, you can request the removal of any type of green waste resulting from your small gardening tasks.
We’re talking about organic waste like:
dead leaves
dead flowers
pruning residues
dead trees
hedge trimmings
weeds
mown grass
uneaten fruits that have fallen from trees
branches and dead wood
Green waste must absolutely be taken to a tip!!! In addition to being harmful to nature, burning your green waste or abandoning it in nature, even in a forest, can result in hefty fines:
It's definitely less risky to book a green waste removal service through Yoojo!
Are green waste bags included?
No, but you don’t necessarily need them. In fact, your jobber can take care of the green waste bags if you don’t have any. Just mention this in your request.
YOOJO TIP: Post a photo of your pile of green waste in your request. This will make it easier for your provider to estimate the volume to be removed and the number of bags needed for the job!
