Vinyl Installation: what’s the cost per m2?
Unlike many other types of DIY services, your vinyl installer won’t charge you by the hour, but by the square metre.
That’s why I’ve done some digging on the internet, looking for quotes and average prices charged by local tradespeople.
I also decided to compare these prices to those paid by clients who used Yoojo to do the same kind of job.

Knowing the average cost is great for getting an idea, but nothing beats real-life examples to help you plan!
In the following sections, you’ll discover real listings posted on Yoojo, the price the client paid for the job, and the cost per square metre for that job.
Example #1: requesting a simple 4.5m2 vinyl installation

Let’s start with a straightforward example: a client requested the installation of 4.5 m2 of vinyl flooring.
Nothing too complicated here, for an expert in linoleum flooring. This client easily found the right person for the job thanks to the detailed profiles and the ratings and reviews from other clients.
In the end, they paid £13 per square metre… A bargain!

Example #2: installing vinyl planks in toilets

Vinyl planks are very popular right now; you can even find them in parquet style.
They can be very stylish, but they might take a bit longer to install. That’s why you’ll notice that the installation cost per m2 is slightly higher than in the previous example.
But at £21/m2, it’s still very competitive, especially for a small installation (I’ll explain more about this just below).

Here, our client in Manchester paid only £35 to fix the poorly done job by the first installer.

Let’s look at the other extreme: someone needing to install vinyl throughout their entire home!
Fortunately, we’ve noticed that the larger the area to be covered, the lower the price per m2 tends to be.
In this case, the client paid £7 per m2… A real bargain compared to market prices!
